Hey Rams and Supporters,
Congratulations to all the Ram football players for a great Spring 2008 Camp and month end Jamboree.
On Friday, the Varsity Rams came out storming en route to 5 wins in 5 games, and out scoring their opponents 102 to 32 over the 5 mini-contests. There were numerous highlights from the Varsity Jamboree including Jordon Pohl's 8 TD strikes plus 1 touchrun run, Alex Anthony's 6 TD performance (after running in the Provincial Track Championships in Vancouver in the morning), great O line play, terrific play from all the running backs and outstanding defensive efforts from the likes of Tyler Greener, Bryan Rideout, Byron Sharratt, Zack Sandulescu, Drew McLennan, Drew Rands, Brandon Gillespie as well as a host of others...unfortunately, Brandon's day was cut short due to a broken leg...we all wish "Smiley" a full and speedy recovery.
Not to be out done, the Junior Varsity Rams played some great football as well posting a 3 and 2 record with the 2 losses being by less than 2 points in each game. Highlights from the Saturday JV Jamboree included some outstanding offensive efforts from play makers Dustin Margalikas (some huge receptions), Jordan Deverill and Tyler Fong (throwing outstanding passes), Terrell Davis, Johnny Quan and Luc Ottosen (running the ball hard and playing some tough defense), solid O line play and great defensive efforts from Blake McNeely, James Bradley as well as Taylor Young with a highlight film pick and Mitch Ottosen with an interception of his own.
All Ram players contributed hugely to the success of both the Spring Camp and the month end Jamboree...the future of Mount Douglas Rams football looks very bright indeed...please stay tuned for upcoming announcements including off-season training.
Many thanks to all those traveling with the Varsity team for forwarding their ticket money to me for the Oregon - Utah State game in September...it will prove to be an awesome road trip.
And lastly, many thanks to all of you for your continued support of Mount Douglas Rams Football.
